TESTIMONY!
A few weeks ago, my wife posted the picture of our triplets on her Facebook page. One of her facebook friends saw it, saved it and every morning, she would lay her hands on the picture and pray fervently, using it as a point of contact, that God should answer her and cause her also to become pregnant.
According to this woman, she missed her menstrual period the following month for the first time in four years!
Interestingly, she has permanently changed her blackberry display picture (dp) to that of our triplets.
I was wondering at the wonders of FAITH this morning and just felt like sharing this testimony with you.

I pray for you this Sabbath day, may the Lord grant you the innermost desires of your heart and cause your secret tears to become open testimonies in Jesus name.

RANDOM THOUGHTS...
For so many years, I have heard the Yoruba adage that says, "Ireje o si ninu foto..."; meaning that there is no cheating in photographs, the way you pose is the way you will appear.
Another English adage says "pictures don't lie".

I came across this image of George Bush, former American president, hugging Osama Bin Laden recently on the Internet and without a second thought, I said to myself "photoshop!"

On a second thought however, I began to imagine...whatever happened to those proverbs and adages I quoted earlier?

If a mischievous fellow goes to your facebook wall, save your pictures, do a fotomix and come out with something embarrassing to you, your loved ones and spouse....??
See how technology has altered our world!
Well, pardon me. Just letting my imagination run wild this week.

RANDOM THOUGHTS...
Reading the dramatic episodes of allegations of corruption between Zenon Oil and the house of rep. committee on petroleum subsidy, I again came to the realization of the damaging blow meted on our polity by the monster called corruption.

I spent a whole month addressing the way forward for Nigeria on my fb wall last year under the tittle "my prescription for Nigeria".
The first sets of recommendations I made were:
1. That special anti-corruption courts be established to try cases of graft and deliver judgements within six months.
2. That penalty for corruption be (a)death penalty with no option of fine (b)forfeiture of all assets of the convict, including those of his/her spouse and biological children (c)banning of the spouse and biological children from contesting or holding political offices.

Until we tackle corruption head-on, we shall continue to be a backward people and a laughing stock in the committee of nations.

During the Sunday service today 10/06/12, the General Overseer of Prayer Centre Church of God, Prophet Samson Oluwamodede said: "soon, I see a government in the federal sit of power in Nigeria, that upon assumption of office proceeds to prosecute and indeed convict past corrupt leaders. I see many hitherto untouchable politicians convicted and sent to prison, some even died in prison..."

ATTENTION!
I woke up at about 3.30am on 6th June 2012, three days after the ill-fated Dana plane crash.
I lost a colleague in the air-accident.
My mind was so heavy that I decided to put down my thoughts in a poetic form and titled it "LAMENTATIONS OF AN AIRCRAFT".
I put my name to the poem and posted in on my wall at about 7.30am same day.
Not a few facebook friends liked it and indeed went ahead to tag it on their walls, including Black Berry Messengers.

I was however embarrassed when I saw this same poem on a friend's wall and the credit claimed by one Bala Mohammed with the following address:

SOMEBODY HELP!
A few days ago, I rushed to the theatre for an emergency surgery. While at it, the accounting officer requested the patient's husband to make some payment. However, the gentleman said he runs a JOINT ACCOUNT with his wife and that payment will be made when she regains consciousness as her signature is required to effect withdrawal. And true, after the surgery and her recovery from anesthesia, she co-signed and payment made pronto!
Issues relating to joint account is not new, but this incident set me thinking. Hence this opinion poll:

 A couple of days ago, a 20-foot waterfall was inaugurated right in the center of Alagbaka roundabout by the Ondo state govt in Nigeria. This facility has suddenly become a tourist center for most visitors and residents of Akure, especially at nights. Beyond the fun, lies an opportunity to make some cash. Can any thinking young man or woman out there get a camera(not camera phones as others are doing), snap fun-seekers and print out the pictures in a short while?...

 CONCLUSION

 Does anyone out there have any area in the operations of facebook that you think needs to be re-addressed? Kindly make such contributions here, as we round off this series today. I thank you all for following me through this 'uninteresting' series borne out of my unpleasant experience. Why do I have to go this far in addressing this matter? Simply because I believe that we should be agents of solutions and not just complainers.

OPEN LETTER TO MARK ZUCKERBERG  (founder of facebook) -005:

 There should be a KNOWN specified number of friend requests that a 'facebooker' can send out at a time. if those requests are not confirmed within 48hrs, the system should cancel them automatically, without any penalty to the sender. Sending a friend request to someone you never knew before should not be termed 'harassment' as presently defined by facebook, as there is always a first time to meeting anyone.

 

OPEN LETTER TO MARK ZUCKERBERG (founder of facebook)-004: 

There should be an address known to all facebook account owners, where we can report all suspected cases of fraud or abuse on facebook. Many of us receive messages from 'ladies' who claim to be in refugee camps, whose fathers left millions of dollars for in foreign accounts and require our assistance in cashing the money through our own accounts! It is not just enough to ignore them. If I don't fall prey, the next fellow might.

 OPEN LETTER TO MARK ZUCKERBERG (founder of facebook) -003: 

There should be a provision whereby every new facebook account would be accompanied with fingerprints. This will prevent the incidence of a person owning multiple accounts and falsified identities. I know this recommendation might be the hardest for you, because certain persons might opt out of facebook for security reasons. These are the people we do not need on the network. We either know you or we don't need you!

When a person newly opens a facebook account, he/she must fill ALL the column in the 'profile' segment before the account is accepted by the facebook team, so that in just a glance, you can have an idea of who the account owner is. A situation where people just fill in their names and leave out other vital information encourages ambiguity, fraud and suspicion.

 As soon as a person logs into the facebook website and goes to the column for opening a new account, the rules and regulations of facebook should be displayed. After reading through, the person must attest at the bottom, that the rules are understood and that he/she is ready to be subject to them. Only then should the fellow be allowed to proceed. The current situation where a portion is shown to you after you have been penalised for an offence you were ignorant of is untidy.

Dear Mark, let me start by congratulating you on the successful launch of "facebook" in 2004. I also congratulate you on your decision to drop out of Havard in order to focus on facebook. However since facebook has grown beyond California Colleges into a global phenomenon, there is an urgent need to REVIEW some of the existing rules, so as to sustain genuine interests and prevent fraudsters from taking advantage of these loopholes. This I shall address from tomorrow.

I MAY QUIT FACEBOOK!

 Two days ago, the facebook team logged me out and suspended my account. When I eventually visited the cybercafe, the system displayed my offence: I sent 'friend requests' to people I didn't know! Over 70% of my facebook friends are people I never knew from Adam. They sent me requests and having perused their walls & profiles, I either 'confirm' or 'reject'. Asking for friendship is no 'harassment', except you reject & I yet persisted. So, the next time am logged out this ground, I stay out!

BEWARE OF FACEBOOK FRIENDS

 I've seen people praising God for the friends they made on facebook. I've also seen others biting their fingers in deep regret. Most people give very scanty details about themselves in the 'profile' column. Some outrightly fill in WRONG information! Before going into a business or emotional relationship with someone you met on facebook, please check again. Pray & shine your eyes! You may need to contact your 'mutual friends' for facts. I pray, may you not truncate your destiny on the alter of facebook in Jesus name.

 

TODAY IS INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY! 

How delicately precious thou art, oh woman. In thy palm lies the power to make. The power to break. The might to build, the emotions to pull down. Only a foolish man, will take you for a ride. Men think they are smart, but thou art wiser than smart. Today, the 9th of March; 2012, I join the world to celebrate women everywhere. Celebrate that woman in your life today; your mother, sister, wife, aunty, female colleague, niece, neighbour. They make the world go round!

STILL CELEBRATING WOMANHOOD

 Yesterday was International Women's Day. I did join the rest of the world to celebrate women GLOBALLY. Today, I look inward, to celebrate LOCALLY, the women in the inner caucus of my life...Abiola my wife, Ejiro my daughter. Oh!..the Triplets! They are not yet "women". When we celebrate World Kids Day, I shall so honour them...

 WHAT MANNER OF LOVE

 This younger man got married to this older woman in the marriage registry here in Nigeria a few days ago. Some say it is pure greed and should be condemned, others say it is pure love and should be celebrated. What sayest thou?

MY FACEBOOK DISCOVERY!

 I have come to discover that when you make a post on facebook, quite a number of people see and read it. But of this number, only a small percentage respond by making comments. So don't be deceived into thinking that the few people that comment on your wall are the only ones who read your posts. The implication of this is that you should be careful what you post on facebook. Someone somewhere will refer to it someday. Would it work FOR or AGAINST you?

MEMORIES OF VALENTINE

 Yesterday's Valentine day was awesome! My wife and I were guest speakers at the Love Domain Family Church, where the topic was "let's talk about sex" After that wonderful time in His presence, we headed to Captain Cook fast food at Alagbaka where we ordered meals and drove straight to Sunview Hotels & Suites where we had earlier booked an apartment for a nite in the VIP unit, by the pool. And thank God there was no "emergency" call from the hospital! Who says I don't go on vacation?

Over the years, I have seen not a few Nigerians, voice out their frustrations. Some wonder why God should, of all places, send them to Nigeria! But is this nation not one of the most blessed with human and natural resources? The problem is not with Nigeria as a nation, but with our inability to manage our resources. So, no matter what, you may hate the POLICY of the government, but don't hate your COUNTRY...

DON'T LET YOUR PAST SEND YOU TO HELL

Most of us have made mistakes at some points in our lives.

Some of which have put a "stigma" on our personality.

We've been to God in true repentance, but often we fail to forgive ourselves and yet live in the memories of our past errors, with a deep feeling of regret & inferiority to other 'saints'... 

To resign to a life of perpetual iniquity because of a past error, is to settle for eternal damnation.

MY THOUGHTS ON CHURCH

The church is a bus in which we are travelling to heaven; 

our ultimate destination.

If the bus is faulty or the driver is reckless,

if I truly desire to arrive at my destination, 

then I MUST alight and join another sound bus.

Many will miss heaven,

because they are dogmatically commited to their church,

seeing it as the ultimate, 

rather than a mere agent of conveyance...

 When i remember the discomfort of nine-months protrusion,

ARE WE BETTER THAN OUR LEADERS ?

Most of us are guilty of d very things we accuse our leaders of! Long queues of vehicles now seen @ filling stations nationwide since d FG fixed PMS price @ #97/L. These stations have fuel, but just refused to sell. When d FG fixed #140/L last week, they sold willingly and made profits of over 100%. Even in d civil service, it takes a corrupt Perm Sec & Directors to have a corrupt minister or commissioner! So are "we" better than "them"?

MY TAKE ON REMOVAL OF FUEL SUBSIDY

A friend pinged me this morning and asked why I'd made no comment on such a burning national issue as the removal of fuel subsidy! I will like to share my response with you:"Beloved, this issue is only a symptom, like PHCN, corruption, Boko Haram etc. From my training, I've learnt to address every disease from its root, rather than focus on the symptoms. The root-solution I have addressed for almost a month on fb in the series "My Prescription For Nigeria"". Need I say more?
